Resin Paving Systems

What are Resin Paving Systems?

Resin Paving Systems provide a highly attractive alternative to dull, bland, lifeless concrete, asphalt and block paving. A surface is transformed by the use of subtle delicate shades that are sympathetic to the natural environment, creating inspired contemporary spaces that reflect light and warmth in harmony with their surroundings.

The finished surfaces are attractive, durable and have all the visual benefits of gravel without any of the associated problems, such as loose stones, weed growth, scratched vehicles and clogged drains.

Resin Paving Systems are achieved using aggregates and resin. Aggregates are available in an array of natural hues, or they can be colour coated. Resin is typically transparent but can also be coloured where required.

A wide range of aggregates can be used, in many different colours, shapes and sizes, to suit the customer’s preference.  Often natural aggregates are selected, which can either be sourced locally or supplied by Adbruf as required. Even colour coated stones, marble and recycled materials are available.  Unique colour schemes can also be created by blending several shades of aggregate together. The choice is endless.

Design elements, patterns, logos, numbers or letters can easily be inset into the resin system by using contrasting coloured aggregates and stencils.

Adbruf’s resins have been formulated using renewable bio mass materials meaning they are eco-friendly, solvent and odour free.

This combination results in a beautiful, extremely hard wearing surface, that is very cost-effective and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The resulting surfaces are resistant to oil or petrol spillage and can resist fading from ultra violet light.

Resin Paving Systems require a suitable substrate over which the resin can be applied.  Suitable substrates typically comprise either existing tarmac, asphalt or concrete that has been cleaned, prepared and is able to withstand the traffic loads expected. To obtain a good finish the existing substrate should be in good condition.

A Resin Paving System is incredibly versatile; it can be used for more or less any project, at any scale and to fit to any budget. The range of uses includes driveways, paths, patios, walkways, cycleways, pedestrian areas, internal flooring, roof terraces, bus lanes, access roads, commercial properties and car parks.

There are two main types of Resin Paving Systems. Resin Bonded, sometimes referred to as “scatter coating” and Resin Bound otherwise known as “hand trowelled”.
